Philip Chan, Pharmacist and experienced Real Estate Investor, started his real estate investment business 9 years ago in higher-crime, not-so-desirable areas where property prices seemed “dirt” cheap. When the California real estate market was hot, he was buying 2 BR properties for $40k which rented for $700/month. Philip says that the numbers on paper were amazing, and he was active in that space for 5 years. Although Philip still actively manages properties in such less desirable neighborhoods to this day, he has shifted his strategies.
